The guy thinks it came from a '96 Ford Ranger pickup.

the ranger pumpkin is not centered i guess it would have to be modified for the proper axel length i beileve most v6 ranger in the newer years caome with numerically higher gear ratios

I think I will give up on the 8.8. I thank everyone for the replies. I am going to look at some 9" rear ends in Anchorage next week. I found a guy with quite a few. He said he also has a lot of performance parts he has collected over the years.
