Default HEI?'s.

i have a dual diaphragm dizzy and a vacum switch port at the top of the water neck and im lookin to get rid of both. I think its just a bunch of useless crap that ford put on there to deal with emissions, i was thinkin about gettin a replacement single diaphragm dizzy and puttin in, but i found HEI units just as cheap. THey come with a built in coil and a tach port. Does anybody have experience with droppin and HEI in an old 289, any words of advice, and with an HEI i dont need a box do i, its just a drop in type deal and hook it up. HEres the one ive been looking at. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...41499485QQrdZ1

Default RE: HEI?'s.

I've heard the DUIs
http://www.performancedistributors.com/forddui.htm

are nice. The only real advantage is having the coil in the distributor cap and fewer wires to run, as long as it's ok for the cap to be a bit larger in diameter.
