Shattered My Rear Window
Well today I was going to fix a leak I have in the rear window and ended up with no rear window.
I popped the trim piece off and the glass was fine, no cracks chips....nothing. The trim came off easy and took very little force.
So after getting the trim off I ran to homedepot to get some stuff.
About 2 hours later or so I go back out to the car to find the glass has cracks throughout the entire thing. There was no piece bigger than .250".
I am not sure what happened but now I am out a chunk of change.......
I covered the window with tape and went at it with a screwdriver to get all the glass out.
Now next weekend it looks like I will be installing new glass.
Sometimes the old girl can be such a pain in the ***.

Well got the new glass and seal. I am going to take a shot at this again tomarrow. If anyone has any tips let me know. Hopfully I wont be shattering anything this time and fix the leak.
probably put a small chip in the glaas under the trim and didnt notice it when u removed the window. and the temp change while u were gone to the home depot probably took care for the rest[:'(]
What I expect happened is I must have put a small chip in the glass and didnt notice. I really dont know how because I was being careful. Then it was a really windy day and when the wind blows my whole garage door goes in and out (like a subwoofer). I think the pressure it created broke the glass. Just a guess but the pressure is significant it will open and slam the door to the house.
When installing the new window should the trim go on the car then insert the window or should it be on the glass then the glass inserted as an assembly?
