Ok, so I have decided I will get the 68 most likely. You guys talked me into it hahaha. For some of your questions. No I won't be driving it to work, unless it's a nice day and I want to have fun after work. The car is going to be more of a fun car to show off. I don't care about gas mileage, because like I said, this will be a fun car to show off in and go fast in. I understang that with more speed, means you get less mpg, and I'm fine with that.

Somebody asked why care about speed, and they would rather cruise. Well I care more about speed because that is why I buy a fast car for, if I wanted something for looks and to cruise in then I would probably get a benz or a four banger.

The car is painted, and has no rust on it. I am going to take off the paint, and do some more body work to it. It has a few small dents, and I want to change the paint scheme. I have a friend in L.A. with a mustang shop, that could help me out for a good price with the body work as well, so I'm not scared of how much that will cost. When I get it though, the first thing I will be dealing with is the engine, then the trans, then the interior, and lastly the exterior. The exterior is fine at the moment, it's not perfect, but not bad enough that anyone will really think it looks bad. Here is a picture of the car, for those that are wondering.

 

oh, and I plan to have a blower on the 351w. That would be done later on down the road though, to make it even more faster.

 

Get the 04 Cobra, I always get a little jealous when i see one. Then buy a cheaper 68 Fastback and slowly fix it up. Own both. Make it happen.

 

faster cheaper, why is that always what people want, sure the 03/04 will be faster (from the start) I doubt really cheaper. but man a classic is just that CLASSIC. Now if I could just get my wife to change the one mustang rule and get an 04 cobra to sit next to the 67 and I'll be a happy man, guess I'll just have to settle for the charger daytona, at least the torred isn't a bad color.

 

Just remember with a 68 you can go as fast but you are more liable to crash no abs, traction and ESP and the damage to yourself will be worse no airbags pre-tensioner etc. I know people will say driver aids are for people who can't drive well remember you can be as good a schumacher but the other people on the road ain't!!

 

youve got to be kidding me...have you guys seen the cobras in action...besides they look way better than a '68...besides for a kit thats about $1900 you can make a cobra 575 hp...thats no joke.

eventually the 03-04 cobra will also since the performance is already legendary. but right now if i was in the market for any new type mustang id go for the 2000 cobra r all out race car fastest stock mustang ever 385hp 175mph top speed its the true"shelby" of 2000 kinda reminds u of the gt350r? with no heater side exhaust no back seat etc etc etc. id really like to find a wrecked one and fix it for about half the cost!
