Default newbie needs hel

Hello, everyone thanks for helping me out. Let me just start by saying that i've always loved the classic mustangs. I've always wanted a 69 mach1 but i guess I settled for a 67 fastback this weekend. I got a great deal on a great car. I have read a lot of articles about the mechanics of classic cars but never actually got my hands dirty. the car is drivable now but i want to fix it up upgrade the suspensions add breaks tweek up the motor and maybe other stuff. What should I do. What needs to be done. any recommendations on books dvd's to improve me knowledge.

first thing first breaks if the car wont stop your dead and u need suspension so the brakes will have somethin to blot to lol theres lots of good books out there ive got a nice mustang book that show the exploded views of 65-73 cars and gicve info about options and engine, trannys etc another good book is How To Restore Your Mustang by: Larry Dobbs and Donald Farr(explains in detail how to restore misc parts and componets correct colors etc) these are great books to look over and see how things fit without actually taking anything apart before u ever turn the first wrench

Id start with the suspension first if I was you. One of the first things you should do improving the classics is suspension or brake upgrades. Since the whole suspension setup is relatively simple, Id hit that first and then get the brakes later. That way you'll learn more and get more familiar with your car by the time you get to the brakes. Most of the suspension installation is "insert bolt, turn nut" procedure so its not confusing and youd just need to learn the parts and different varieties.

Thanks for help. I have a couple of concerns. Before i work on the the suspension and all the other stuff do i need to do anything with the chasis. I mean there are a couple of rust spots on the car. am i suppose to tackle that first. there is so much i want to do but i just don't know what i need to do first in an orderly fashion??

thanks

If it were mine, it would start by fixing the frame rails and floor pans if they need any and work my way up.

Also, there is a lot of info in the FAQ section
