Default Power steering conversion issues need help

My neighbor has a 1965 Mustang 289 3 spd. He is converting it to power steering. He put on Granada disc brakes last year and just bought the parts for converting to power steering. We installed the drag link valve and clinder and when we went to put on the inner tie rods at the drag link side they hit. They are fairly short and have a quick bend in them that causes them to interfere with the link. He believes the link he bought for the conversion is from a 67 mustang and we may need different tie rods.Has anyone had this problem or can help please advise. Thanks Brian

Maybe try switching left to right so the bend goes the other way.
