Default Charging

My battery keeps on dying. I took in my alternator and they told me there was nothing wrong with it. So i bought a new battery and the car starts up fine for about a week. Then the battery dies. Is there something draining the battery that i dont know about? any help would be appreciated

edit: its an I6 200 if that matters

disconnect the battery after you use the car. let it sit for a week. If it doesnt die then something is draining it. If it does it is probably your battery or alternator.

Go out at night and see if any interior lights are on. Also double check your glove box light switch to make sure it shuts off when the door is closed. Somewhere, you have a light that stays on.

I'm having the same problem, but I'm assuming it is because I only drive it 2-1/2 miles to work and then 2-1/2 miles home, and even that is not every day. Never gets a chance to charge up. I have a brand new battery, but I haven't changed the coil, voltage regulator, or alternator. I did see a cool product at the store though, it's a trickle charger that you just leave in the car full time and plug in when needed.

Recommends for use "on collectibles, street rods and other infrequently used vehicles." Hmmm... sounds like me!

Went through this with a Trans Am battery kept getting drained for no reason. Turned out to be a hot wire with the stereo. The stereo wasn't staying on but all the lights on it were was really odd. Just another alternative if that doesn't fix it.
