Default C4 question

I have a 289 with a C4 auto. The tranny has about 118,000 miles on it. It has a bad leak coming from the front of it. Also it seems to go into forward and reverse easily not hard. It goes from first to second just fine but never shifts to third. Is it time for a rebuild or just a tune up? Thanks

its probably your pump seal. It's just going to get worse over time. i would look into a rebuild or even a new transmission.

Since you would have to pull it out to replace the front seal, its a good time to rebuild it. Yank it out, and take it to a shop. Shouldnt be that much to rebuild. My cost on them is around $200 without a new converter. Just dont tell the shop that, since they have overhead like lights, employees paychecks, parts, and things of that nature.. its a business afterall.. Still $500 woudnt be out of line for a C4 build..

You will like it better after..
