I mean is there any reason to use this much bondo on any car? I started sanding my rear quarters last weekend and found out that there was a little more bondo than I thought.
I started with the abrasive wheel and just kept going. The funny thing is that the fenders aren't in that bad a shape. I think the guy I bought it from just wanted bigger flares.
Anyway. I just thought some of you would get a kick out of them.
holy sh*t....theres one spot on my fender like that but the rest was thin....that is out of control....i bet u could tap it with a hammer and chip off a big *** slab....ur gonna need to sell a child to pay for that body work lol....
Yeah, either replace that panel, or weld in new metal.
A very thin layer of body filler is the norm for body repair, but gobs of it to cover up rust is just simply stoopid if you want a lasting paint job.
Yeah I haven't even gotten to the rear of the panel yet. I'm thinking I will at least need to replace a partial or the entire skin. The driver side front fender is just as bad. It is amazing what you can do with bondo. I think I'm going to need to save up for the OEM fender though.
u should have seen the left rear quarters on my old 72 fastback after i stripped 13 different paint jobs off of it and then about 3 cans filler on it[:'(]
I know. When I got it I had such a hard on just to own a Stang I let it get in the way of my common sense. But hey, sometimes you you gotta work for what you love!
some people cant do body work so they think bondo is a fix it all and its not the 68 coupe i just bought i sanded the hood and found 3 different paint jobs on it
