Default fender splash shields

I am restoring my first mustang. Partial to Model A's myself but my 16 year old isn't! So we now have a '65 convertible that is a long way from the road.

Working on my new front fenders. Have my repo splash shields and rubbers. How do I staple them on?

This will be the first of MANY questions. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you mean mudflaps? Um would you put mudflaps on a model A, T, or a ****** coupe? Same sorta thing with the mustang..

I had the same question whenever I got mine. I was told to get a very small drill bit and predrill the holes, then fold them over. That would be the "proper" way to go about it but I think its pretty stupid...

No, I read it to mean the splash shields behind the front tires on a classic mustang.
The repro slash shields come with the rubber already attached to the connecting metal.

Soaring, some companies sell them already attached and some dont. Its cheaper if you attach them yourself...

Yeah, you would be foolish to try to attach them yourself, but since you already have them unattached, use an air staple gun like mine. Yeah, I know it is a cheap one, but it does the trick for that once in a year project.

why use staples? it maybe correct just doesnt seem like the best solution.... would small rivets not be better? or atleast workable?

Well if ya mean those.. then yeah.. pop rivets would work too.. Or a piece of flat stock with bolts/nuts/washers on each side.. heavy staples like soaring mentioned would work too.. whatever you have layin around.. get creative because few people see them stuffed way up in there..

Not sure if mine will go back in or not... They are good shape on the Cougar, but the stang is needin everything..lol.. I think its a race car waiting to happen..
