C4 rebuild ? and Shift Kit ?
When I rebuid my C4 this winter do I need to put a 2nd stage shift kit and a larger stall convertor which was recommended. I am runnig with a 289 ,mild cam ,600 holley dual 2.5" exhaust no headers. I was told the C4 shift pretty hard when rebuit and if so would the shift kit make it any better or just more uncomfortable ride when just normal driving it.My 67 Coupe is for pleasure driving not a daily driver. Thanks for any input you might have.
I used PA's street / strip valve body on mine when I had it freshend up. I'm very happy with the end results. I can controll shift points manually and it also holds and shifts firm from the D position.
Be sure to get the right sized pin for the modulator valve and check into the right servo for your application. PA ( Performance Automatic ) was very helpfull when I called and talked to the rep there. They pointed me to a vendor that had what I needed in stock and I recieved it on schedule.
I also highly recommend these guys http://www.network54.com/Forum/260730/ . Stuart is generaly prompt with a reply and has gobs of knowledge.

I went with the B&M transpack, but I have also heard great things about transgo's valve body uprades. My B&M manual valve body makes my c4 shift like a jackhammer, I love it. Nothing but firm positive shifting when I am going through the gears manually and it is very responsive to the RPM's that I shift at. Driving around in D it still shifts very rough, but I never really leave it in D.
i think i might order my shift kit today and my new shifter sometime this week.
