Default Blinker bummer need help

Okay my right blinker has been working on and off the past few days most of the time it would work then it wouldn’t, same for brake light.

So I went to pop it apart thinking bad connection at light socket was confused at how it was suppose to look so on the volt meter So i though I would compare it to the good side that has no issues. Well when I started making comparisons they were both the same in all the test (normal lights, brake lights, blinker) both terminals showed the same results so Im thinking WTF it should work.

Put it all back together (stick the stupid lights in) and now neither side work properly. I get taillights but no brake lights, no blinkers

What the hell have i done?

Sounds like the connection between the bulb and the little **** in the socket. 65-6's are famous for this.

Okay figured it out, turns out the boots that hook to the back of the light sockets are not making great contact and the minute you mess with anything you cause problems.

Okay the boots have two hot lead inside them one in the core and one around the outside of the core insulated by wall of the core. That makes no since really, but what i want to know is: does the inner most wire (core) carry the blinker signal or does the outer wire carry the blinker signal?

Thanks

Not sure about that one. Use your tester on it. It should be easy to figure out.

Dang you know you were right about the **** too, its both the boots and the **** [:@]

I think its the outer wire is for the blinkers with everything off except blinkers I get 11.44V at the outer wire and 0 with it off 0 at the core both time. It was too hard to tell last time because I had the tail lights on too and was expecting the blinker to give a pulse but I guess it will only pulse under load which I cant easily simulate and test at the same time.

But looks like the outer one now.

Thanks

Works great now, cleaned up the contacts and on the right side I bent the socket together a tad with some pliers, as the bulb was fitting quite loose. Now everything keeps working after you touch it and bounce it around.
I guess im set

Thanks again
