Default Door tag rivits install

My door tag was missing so I order a replacement from Mustangs Plus (you give them the code numbers and they make an an exact replica!). I also purchased the two rivits that connect the tag in the exisitng home. My question is how do you install the rivits - do you take a nail punch and hammer them in (I don;t want to damage the metal surrounding the two holes). Do you need a special tool? Can you press them in by hand?

Thanks

Yeah, they are just pop rivets. Aluminum, but just pop rivets.

Just for you big boy, I went out into my shop and took some pics of how a pop rivet gun works. Basically, all you have to do is drill a hole in the metal, insert the rivet in the hole and pull the trigger.

Hold on there fellas. Those are not pop rivets. The originals just tap in with a punch.

Here is a pic of what they look like. Just tap them in. It doesn't take much and they will go right in.
