If you install it yourself, its going to need taken off eventually for paint anyways. Best hold out till you can get it all done at once...

so like the tail panel dosent seem to go up all the way flush and i cant get anything else working until that is. it has built in tail light buckets, and i was told i wouldnt need to cut the metal panel but i think im going to have to....the metal panel that is....i know thats how the original GT/CS's were done...do u think i should cut it? im afraid of sparks around the gas tank area....

for the tail lights you might have to cut the metal if that worried about the gas tank take it out or take tin snips and cut it out id get the tail light panel fited then start on the trunk get everything lined up good you might have to sand a few spots to get it to sit straight the end caps same way just look and see why its not fitting and sand it if its metal beat it with a hammer

Hold the press!! Im not an expert. But I know for a fact all the shelbys Ive seen have all retained there stock metal tailight panel. If you cut it, you will regret it and if you wind up taking it to a bodyshop for them to clean up and properly fit the parts it will likely cost more since they have to clean up someone elses mess. As far as the tailight panel fitting flat are the builtin buckets hitting your metal tailight panel, if so you you might have to take a little bit off the buckets. Just my insight. I think 65mojoe or rmodel would be able to add more insight.

ive already taken off a bunch of tail light panel....its better but i think the lips along the top and bottom are now hitting and not letting it sit totally flush.....if that makes sense....
