Default 1968 Instrument panel help

The clock on the instrument panel stopped working!! now i checked the fuse..the manual says that the fuse (number 4 in my case) is for the interior courtesy lights and the clock. The courtesy lights work but the clock doesnt!! Am i right in thinking that the fuse is fine? If it isn't...well i tried prying it out with a pen but it wouldnt work and i havnt tried with a screw driver lest i bust the glass casing!!! so any advise on how to pop the fuse out?

If the fuse has nothing wrong with it..what else could be the issue? any ideas?

Something off topic but the fan belt was making a screeching noise and a friend told me some "soap" will fix that and told me not to use ANY grease as that will make it squeak more as it makes the belt slip....is there any truth to this?

Buy a fuse puller that will fit around the fuse. Or check it with a volt-meter. If the fuse is ok, then it could be the "winder points" on the clock itself. You'll have to pull the instrument cluster to get to the back of the clock to check it and or clean it.

I think these clocks are pretty bad to go. I've gone to a lot a car mustang shows and have seen very few that actually work. The self winder mechanism causes a lot of trouble. I think there was an article a while back in mustang monthly about cleaning one.
