Try a search on this. I'm sure I've read where someone either fabricated or bought the linkage piece you are talking about. Might have been on another forum though.

Thats the one for your original shiffter. Don't forget you need a TV cable to adjust line pressure in the trans. Lokar also makes this and its easy to setup..
All AOD's need a throttle velocity cable connected to the carb from the trans. The lokar kit is the same I used and it was easy. If you don't put one in you will burn the clutchs out of your trans in about 15 to 30 min of driving.
