i swapped out my c4 for a street-strip AOD, does anyone make a shift linkage or do i have to fabricate one for my 65?

Try a search on this. I'm sure I've read where someone either fabricated or bought the linkage piece you are talking about. Might have been on another forum though.

Cool idea to to keep the stock shifter. Good luck with it.

 

Lokar makes linkage for anything, real nice stuff too. I have used it on a customer's 55 Dodge pickup street rod.

Thats the one for your original shiffter. Don't forget you need a TV cable to adjust line pressure in the trans. Lokar also makes this and its easy to setup..

i know nothing about the TV cable...this is the first transmission work ive ever done...is it something a newb can do?

 

All AOD's need a throttle velocity cable connected to the carb from the trans. The lokar kit is the same I used and it was easy. If you don't put one in you will burn the clutchs out of your trans in about 15 to 30 min of driving.

 

and it has to be set just right or it won't drive right
