I wish someone had made an offer like that to me in high school. They eliminated auto shop from my county a long time ago, so the only way you could learn the trade as a hobby was to enroll at a community college at night. So it wasn't really viable for me to work at my loading dock job, and attend high school and community college all at the same time.

Not moving to Cleveland, and I cant own a business because of my disability and the VA. Plus I dont want to fix peoples minivans and front drivers. I want to build hotrods and do restorations, there is a big differencce in the two.

But Rmodel if you are serious, let me talk to the father in law about a cabin you can stay in, and you can also work for him on a few things when I cant get in the shop to do anything. right now I need to get the insulation up on the roof and walls, so the shop holds heat better, so that is the first project I gotta do. So carpentry, snowplowing, mechanical work, and almost anything else short of nuclear fusion are on the plate for things to do. Her dad pays better than I do too..

Be advised though... its snowing right now, and everything is going to be white for the next 5 months. If you cant deal with massive snow and poor driving conditions, and sometimes stayin inside for almost a week at a time, then its not a great place to live. I can get out in the shop about 3 days per week right now, and when the weather changes or a big front moves through I cant walk much at all, so I sit around and type to you guys.

Well its easy to get here from GA, straight up I75 untill you hit St Ignace, then go west 3 hours.. St Ignace has a huge car show every June too..
Pm me if you really are serious, learning to drive in snow isnt a big deal. Plus I have a spare 4x4 to get around in.

haha snow is KEY...im surprised im not in Tahoe right now....oh yeah....no money for the season pass yet because i blew it all on GT/CS parts and a new compressor/air tools....but oh well.....last year i remember blasting through knee deep snow in the Expedition in a flat dirt area near the cabin....semi-donuts and stuff lol...i don't recommend it in a mustang though....also, its not as fun when your on an actual road and have to keep it all under control doing down mountain roads at freeway speeds with ice all over the road and its sh**ing snow like no tomorrow....

has anyone else seen a car just being putt putting along then all of a sudden spin a perfect 360*, and just keep going??? i swear its like almost commonplace on the way to the ski resorts when its snowing and stuff and like ive never see anyone wipe out doing it before....this isnt like on purpose of course but its just amazing......

that always amused me in a sort of sick and evil way....

Its as simple as that. I need someone to help me out, but who doesnt need to pay for a wife, kids, school, mortgage, and a place to live.. lol.. What would be perfect is a guy on work release from the jail, but then when he gets out things might not stay around too long..[:@].

Cant really pay someone to work(at least not alot), but I can teach alot about what to do and what not to do, and more importantly how to do it. One benefit would be is when we sell a car, a split in the return on it would give both of us a bigger chunk of change. They could move on to something else whenever they felt like it, but it sure wouldnt be an easy life.

Both my kids are daughters and they live 850 miles away, so cant do that. I wonder how I could find a kid who would be willing to work just to learn this stuff, and can get over here often enough to actually learn it and be beneficial to me..

any ideas?
and before you think about moving up here, think about living in a small room at my place and workin your butt off for little more than knowledge.. hence an intern or apprentice.
If I were a younger fella, I'd be all over this. Until recently ( in the last year ) I was basicaly in the same boat. I had to do everything by myself. And being injured for so long, it got pretty difficult. Even now I still have a hard time getting out of the bed the next day. Thank goodness for meds
