You have a 289 in a 69? Maybe it's a 302....
Well if it's a 289/302 hardtop, then it'll be closer to the 3300 side of the scale. Hardtops are lighter than fastbacks, and that engine is obviously lighter than a 351 or a big block. Also the 289/302 is most likely in front of a C4 tranny (if its an auto) which is a light transmission.

Oh I c. Well I just said that because 1969 mustangs came with 302's not 289's, so it seems odd that a previous owner would put a 302 in it.
And in case you don't know a 289 and 302 are virtually the same thing. A 302 is a just slightly stroked 289. There are many threads that have discussed it, so feel free to do a search.
