how can i check to see what year my 302 block is? all i know is that it is a roller block

well that means that it is def not an original 302 block from the 60's which meant that it is a block from the 80's or newer i believe but decurion is on so he will be able to tell you for sure but you need to find that casting number on the block

in the date codes this is how it works
c =1960's
d=1970's
e=80s
f=90s
the next year is the numer of the decade ex: c9= 1969 and so on

'85 5.0 HO motors were the first 302s to be roller.

make sure if u go to rebuild it not to use pistons from the 86 model year because they cause clearence issues with valves when doing mods
