Default Power steering or not

I bought a 65 GT a few weeks ago and had to join a gym to get in shape to turn the (stock)steering wheel. To make matters worse I want to go to a 14" wheel. I'm sure that a converted manual rack and pinion would reduce the amount ot steering effort. The questions is is it enough, or should I go to a power R&P. The cost diference isn't that great.
Question, do you lose too much road feel with r&p power steering? Any sugestions which conversion kits are best? I would appreciated your collective knowledge and experience.

Default RE: Power steering or not

I have a smaller steering wheel (somewhere around 14")
My PS stuff was leaking so I converted to manual steering using the flaming river gearbox with standard factory ratio. I also had to get the PS to MS kit for the drag link.

It took most of the play out of the system and its not that hard to steer I can make a U turn with one hand at 10+ mph.

The total cost was close to 600

This option costs much less than the R&P conversions On the downside it still allows a little play and its not R&P.

I’m happy with the results but without feeling the R&P I cant say if R&P is worth the extra 1500 bucks and extra hassle

Something to consider
