Default lug nut size

does anyone know the lug nut size for a 69 mustang with a 8 inch rear end. I believe that it is 1/2 but i want to double check. I need to know this because i am getting new custom alloy axles and i need to know the size of the studs i should use. Also what would you all recommend screw in or press in studs?

yeah 1/2" and you can do fine with press in studs. Screw in are okay, but as long as you have quality studs dont worry about them. You arent making enough power to break anything unless a wheel is loose.
