Default carb hesitation

So i just got my 68 fastback (200cid) back from the shop and immediately I noticed that when I stepped on the gas, there was a hesitation. I just replaced the fuel filters and fuel pump. the only thing that's left seems to be the carburetor (1 barrel). thoughts?

Kyle, take off the air cleaner, and with the engine not running, hold the choke open and open the throttle. Watch and see if you get a "squirt" of gas into the throat. If not, then the accelerator pump isn't working. If it isn't, first look for anything that appears not connected.

Accelerator pump linkage may not be adjusted properly. You should have multiple locations for the arm to mount to the throttle lever and to the accelerator pump arm.

Whats the timing set at? Bump it up to about 10-12 or so and it should help out. The stock 1bbl six's aren't going to have as good of throttle response as a V8. I've went through all of this on my 240 in my truck. Getting the accelerator pump working good and bumping up the timing will take most of it out.
