Default pullin engine questions

hey! Thanks for all the feedback on my earlier post, extremely helpful. so ive decided to pull the engine first and have some questions with that. i dont really know where to begin and the steps to it. if someone can shed some light on the topic would be great. i wanted to know if you can pull an engine and leave the tranny or if pulling an engine means both the engine and tranny.

You can do it either way, with the tranny bolted on or not. But if you dont need to take the tranny out then theirs really no point. Just make sure everything is disconnected, wires and such. Have to unbolt the motor mounts. Do you have a cherry picker? and do you know how to hook it up?

I would take plenty of pics and notes too because ya don't want to be left with 'extra' parts in your hand.

if the parts are extra you didn't need them in the first place!

Is that how it works? Well I guess I can stop worrying about my weight bench collapsing on me while I'm working out then... phew..

Take pictures of engine bay from all angels (refer to them when re-installing).
Get some zip lock bags and a black sharpie to lable all the bolts and stuff you remove.
You will want a floor jack to support the tranny if you plan on leaving it in.
Drain all the fluids.
Start taking things apart.
Put in all back in.
Isnt that easy!?

I recently took the engine out of my 65 and stuck her back in. Real not that difficult. I have long tube headers that I had to deal with; wasnt fun but just took some extra time.

Good Luck

Sry to use this thread but it is also a similar topic. I have a 200 ci and i was wondering how hard it is to throw it back in with the tranny attached. when i took it out, i took both the engine and tranny separately so i was just wondering the diffculty of installing both of them together after the rebuilds

I think i would put them in seperately but if you got the car up in the air and could get a strong enough angle going they might fit together.
