Default Replacing Hoses

Newb Question: I need to get the 'stang running by Christmas and basically all I need to do is replace the hoses and throw a battery in and I'll be set. If I can get that done this weekend I could degrease it next weekend and be done for a while with the engine finally.

So my newb question is how do I replace all the hoses and where do I get them? I'm a moron so when I started working on the car I didn't know what I was doing, pretty much just trashed this stuff (I was 14), and didn't take nearly enough pictures. So can I just get the hoses/brackets from a local parts store? I'm worried they would kink where they bend. Also, does anyone have pics of a stock 289 with the hoses that I could have?

Becareful with the degreasing of the motor. You may open up something You don't want to at this time of year. I would hold on until the summer.

My step dad did that last year with his truck and all sorts of leaks came up and I the same when I first got the 66 on the road. I cleaned the undercarrage to open a MAJOR pin hole in the tranny cooling line. Took a thing of J. B. Weld and 3 hours to get it sealed back.

Just use stock replacement hoses. The new hoses will look clean and nice on the motor.

Not sure why you need pics, but I have uploaded some for you. You have three hoses. Upper and lower radiator hoses, and the little 90 degree turned hose that goes from your thermostat housing to the intake manifold.
On Edit: Make damn sure the lower rad hose has the coil of wire in it. Otherwise, the hose will fold on you under pressure, and the engine will overheat .

Thanks for the pics Soaring but I have way more than 3 hoses. I'm talking about basically every single hose in the car. The PCV hose (I can take care of that one), every other one running from the carb, there's some thin one which is running along the drivers side of my radiator that wasn't even hooked up when I got it and a few others I believe. Maybe I'm referring to them by the wrong name?

The thin one on the side of your radiator may be your overflow hose. Check and make sure if it's coming out of the top ot the rad where the cap sits.

LCC< I don't think that is the bracket you are looking at. I think that's the alt itself.

OK smartass LCC, I don't see pics of your engine bay so I can make remarks about it. However, thanks for pointing out the bracket to me. I have another project to take care of tomorrow. The only other water hoses are the heater hoses. The others are the PCV and the choke hoses. We don't have vacuum hoses on the 289's that are rubber. The vacuum tube to the distributor is metal.
