i have a 302 in a 67hardtop and the engine is pretty much stock with no performance parts. i want an engine that has about 450-500 hp. wat can i do or have the shop do in terms of stroking, boring, and upgrade some parts to performance parts to have my 302 push about 450-500 hp.

You can buy a crate motor or buy a 347 stroker kit. You'll need a good transmission with a stall converter (or a manual trans) and a good rear end with low gears. Go with a roller cam and rockers. Using the roller set up decreases friction in your valvetrane. Of course you'll need heads that can breath also and pistons to clear them big valves.

You will need an all forged bottom end good heads fully polished and an agresive roller cam. we do it all the time.
