when I pulled the engine out, I made sure to take pics and i used some masking tape to label all the hoses and wires. Now I'm trying to re-assemble everything and I've got myself some problems. The pictures seem to have been misplaced and the labels have all worn off and appear blank. Permanent marker my butt...anyway, anyone know where I can find some pictures of where the hoses go. I konw where the readiator hoses go, but i still have the heater hoses, and several other inlets/outlets im unsure of. Also, I forot where the battery grounds too. I thouhgt it went to a bolt behind the alt on the bottom of the enging. Is this where the alt grounds also? Thanks in advance guys.

 

I tried to get the pages off the CD manual I have and I couldn't get it to copy over and make a pic out of it. It should be pretty simple. There's only a hand full of hoses at best. You may try to google it. Normaly there's something out there.

 

Hrmm... I did the EXACT same thing... And i eventually got mine back together just be thinking logicly( well, my battery/charging system still doesnt work- missing wires)... Mine only had a few hoses, to the heater core and back and that was it -Jon

 

Heater: One hose comes off the water pump and the other off the intake (front or rear is your choice, just make sure you get a water port and not vacuum).

Yes, the battery grounds to the engine block pretty much under the alternator. There's a bolt boss just for that cable. Don't forget the ground between the engine and chassis (usually on the back of the engine on a head or bellhousing bolt to a bolt on the firewall...I use the export brace bolt).

You'll have a sender in the water jacket on the front of the engine as well.

99% of vacuum lines are unimportant. You may have one for the brake booster (big one in the back of the intake) and dizzy (goes to timed carb port...no vacuum at idle, but vacuum after the blades open). You can leave the dizzy one off for the engine run in and plug it in when your tuning it up for the first drive.

im goona try and google it but here are the ports ive got. One small one next to the upper radiator hose, two coming out of the top of the water pump, and two coming off the top of the intake manifold next to the dizzy.

p.s. its a 351W, hint hint signature

 

yay, nvm,lol, looks like i found one of the pics i took of the car when I first got it, and luckily it shows where all the hoses go. one of the ports next to the dizzy is for a vacumn, i didnt notice that cuz right now its taped over to prevent the paint getting in it. . Now I just need to figure out where that one little hose that runs from the water pump to the thermostat housing has run off to...or find a replacement, which will be fun,lol.

 

I keep asking myself the same thing.. that and "what am I here after"... I am missing a few pieces, but hey they must not have been needed, right?
