Default Demon carb

I decided to change my 2 barrel to a 4 barrel carb.

I chose the Demon model with an Edelbrock manifold with the new Endurashine finish - has anyone seen this in person? Has anyone fitted their stang with a Demon? If so, are you pleased?

demon carbs ive heard are amazing. depending on the motor your running will depend on your cfm's. my uncles friend has a chevy nova thats easily doing 600hp with a 350 and i guess his demon is only a 500cfm. said if he used a holly or edlebrock hed have to move up to about 700, 800 cfm area

Demon is a good brand. Everyone I've talked to though has seemed to think that it's really only necessary/useful if you're racing or have a really really high HP rating.

Holleys use booster venturi too.

Have a Demon 850 on the GTO's 455. Its a mechanical secondary carb, has large bowls, four corner idle, and has worked flawlessly since I got it in 2000. Its the only carb I have had that didnt burn my eyes at idle in the Goat. The 455 pulls 15hg at idle while making over 400hp, you would think it would be easy to tune but for some reason it was tricky. Getting a Holley to work on it wasnt fun, they always had a rich gas thing goin on. The one Qjet I ran on it needed rebuilt because the baseplate was so sloppy, its a common malady for the Qjet.

You dont need to have a race car to run a Demon, but one thing you dont need to do is geet one that is too big. Often a smaller one will work fine and make plenty of power. One thing you should do before you install is is pull the bowls off and make sure there is nothing like metal shavings in them, they had a bit of quality control issues a while back. So its best to be sure you arent getting a carb from that era, otherwise they are a quality piece and worth the bucks if you want to spend them.

+1
ya u never wanna run to big. what i tell ppl as car as cfm's and exhaust sizes is to think of a straw in water. with carbs think of taking a straw in water and sucking up the water. to small a straw (carb in cfm's) and your straining to get all you need, to big and you dont have the power to suck the water up. same with exhaust but insteaded of sucking up, you are blowing out
