I blew the muffler out yesterday on my newly revived 66. Do most muffler shops carry the "stock" single exhaust V8 muffler that fits in front of the gas tank? Or should I order it from one of the classic parts places and take it to be installed. I'd rather this be done by the shop since I don't have the tools to do cutting with if needed.

I doubt they carry the original type muffler. I'd try a classic mustang store online.

 

No, but all muffler shops will have a muffler that will fit your car. Now would be a good time to step up to a dual muffler system.
