Default Power Steering

I just recently got my 69 Coupe out of the garage after a year of working on it! Yesterday I took it for a spin. I was noticing that the power steering was pretty touchie. I was wondering if it would be alright if I just took off the pump and ran it with out the power steering. I have some other issues to work out before it is road worthy. Thanks for the help.

you can do it but it will be a real hard thing to steer without the power on. what exactly do you mean by touchie?

Maybe I am just not used to driving the vehicle. The power steering seems too easy to turn, if you know what I mean. I am used to driving a F350 4 door, with an 8 foot bed.
