cigerette lighter problem

Default cigerette lighter problem

short and sweet, how the heck do u get it out. i was going to replace it cuz its dead but ive twisted, pryed, pulled, looked for screws and nothing. how do u get that blasted thing out?

oops sry, still the 66 with the stock dash and crap, i guess ill end up taking out the original ***** and starter cylinder as well

You have to go in from behind the dash and there is a retainer that screws over the assembly. Unscrew the retainer and the lighter socket should pull out(be sure to disconnect the battery first for safety reasons).

bob is right. there is an female receptacle on the back, unplug that and then screw the outer sleeve off. the internal part will pop out through the dash.
