Default OLS SCHOOL

Okay I have a 93 lx hatch with a gt-40 crate motor and a few other items under the hood. Witout spay I am pushing 370 HP or better ! I can dust any P.O.S. chevy or rice rocket crap I come up on. BUt lets talk about another engine . My father has a 1966 Fastback 2+2 289 HI-PO. The engine was rebuilt back in 98 by him and myself. with all orginal Ford parts. So last nigth he drives the old stang to the house for christmas dinner. I start making fun of him and his 40 year old car cause he just turned 60. He says let do it then son. SO we did it old school 1/4 mile two lane road 1 pass with a flag start. I launhed at 3500 and he lauched at 7000 yea that right 7000 RPM. He had 2 links on me comin out of first I shifted at 5000 and he wound the old 289 up too 8000 before shifting every time. At the end of the rin all I ever saw was his bumper 8 links in front of me and his middle finger out the window.

SO HERE'S TO OLD SCHOOL STANGS AND THE OLD TIMERS THAT MADE THEM GREAT

I had my *** handed to me by a 60 year old man

It's cool to see that you can put aside your pride and give a guy his due [sm=shades.gif]. Two thumbs up for your dad in "handing you your a$$"[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley20.gif], keep it up...

lol, This just makes my day. That is so wonderful that a 40 year old car, can still run with the newer ones. I have the utmost respect for you, for not being an *** and trashing the old cars. I hope you didn't turn the spray on did you?

Just goes to show you, real engines don't need spray. Keep in mind, that early stang is suprisingly light for it's size, no 5 mph bumpers, no door beams, no air bags, no ABS, not a whole lot of sound deadening. My 66 GT350 was only 2800 lbs dry weight, the R models were even less. BTW, mine went mid 12s on slicks with the stock 3.89 rear and a Borg Warner T10 wide ratio.

HAHA! Damn, you need to either work on shifting or get a real car. After reading the first 2 lines, I thought you were gonna troll the post and start talking slick about the classics.

So did you learn anything from getting your rear handed to you by a 66?
