Does it have a choke and is it operating properly? Also, is your thermostat working the way it should?

Need more info. What engine. What carb. Any modifications done to the heads like filling the heat crossover or the use of an aftermarket head without the crossover.

One thing that has been showing up lately is people who have never driven an engine with a carb think there is something wrong because it wont start right up and idle nice and smooth like the new EFI equipped SUV or car they have will. Often even with a choke you will have to pedal it a bit to keep it running, and getting it started on a very cold day will be a pain. Some of mine wont start untill its 40F, thats the nature of the beast with them.

Also if you are running E85 fuel or a high percentage of Ethanol, it will be tougher to start in cold weather, Ethanol and Methanol dont like to burn under 50F, they also dont provide much heat for the engine to warm up. Alky burning drag cars will tend to take forever to warm up to make a run even in July and August. Some run with no radiator or water in them, they run that cool.

in short we need to know more about it than its a 65 Mustang. That leaves a huge amount of variance to figure something out.

its a v6 200.

i dont know what kind of carb it is.

but my problem, is that it wont even turn over.

when i get in the car in the morning, it will turn over and die instantly. so, when i try to turn it over again, it wont turn over. but it does make a noise. i dont know where the noise comes from. the noise sounds like something is charging up when you turn the key, and then dies down when you switch it off.

i hope that helps define the problem. are your help is extremely appreciated.
