Default Please HELP!

There has got to be a very easy explination for this! My new/old 65 mustang coupe will not accept gas! When I pour it in it acts like it is full and runs over. I know for a fact it is empty. Is there a flap or something that is keeping the gas from going in? Please help!

p.s. I just bought a manual off of ebay so hopefully I won't have to ask every question on here. This is my first old car and I am really excited about it, but boy is there a lot to learn!

Default RE: Please HELP!

There was a forum about this not so long ago. A couple people in here can go in to great detail what the problem is but basically, the old leaded pumps used to be wider. You have to find the right angle of the pump for it to except the gas. We all know this can be trickey but you just have to experiment.
