Default '69 exhaust

hey guys i was wondering what the loudest factory exhaust system for a 69 mustang is. i've been pulled over twice for exhaust once with cutouts open got a ticket for that one which is understandable but tonight i got pulled over for my 40 series flowmasters but got let off and told i had better get it fixed. in virginia it has to be factory or factory sound. i was hoping that there is a loud factory exhaust for these thing. i read about the glass pack thread but anyway just wondering. thanks

+1 on that man...I (kinda) Love NY

Probably the loudest thing from the factory was a solid lifter cam's chatter...these cars were pretty quiet.

How about a Boss Nine exhaust? I just read in a magazine that mufflers were optional on the '65 Cyclone. Maybe you can find something like that for '69 and carry the info around with you. Nothing like straight pipes from the factory, which was also an option for my '65 F250...so I put Moroso Spiral Flows on....almost just like straight pipes.

Good grief. If that law was actualy enforced in my neck of the woods, we'd have to ride bicycles. I can understand open headers or even straight pipes to some extent. But if the exaust has a muffler and is not dragging the ground then the law should spend their precious resources actually giving tickets to the idiots running people off the road.

That's just plain silly.

Pending what your set up was from the factory, you may have a leg to stand on. Dual exaust and mufflers are not quiet in the first place. So, you are in factory limits. I'm starting to think the cop that pulled you over either is bored or just has it in for any kind of Hot Rod type vehicle he sees.

i wish they could make it a law in california that you must have at least 6 cylinders to modify the exhaust
