"Performance" Parts ???

RE: "Performance" Parts ???
I found that to be true always of the local NAPA stores wherever I was. Some of the other stores are staffed by young inexperienced guys and they can be wrong a lot of the time. What irritates me about that is that they have the same computer access to parts - they just don't know how to read the data or look up data or cross-reference.

A mech I know said that when they farm stuff out at his dealership, they get it at NAPA. If they have to get it somewhere else for time reasons, they have to modify the stuff. For example, he says when they get the brake rotors somewhere else, they ALWAYS have to be turned first because they are all warped slightly. My gf went through a set of Autozone rotors in less than a year. I replaced them, at almost twice the cost with NAPA stuff and they're still like new after6 months.....

Think of performance parts like you think of the tensil strength of a bolt. A grade 8 bolt is stronger steel than others. Yeah, I would use NAPA if there would be one around here, but there isn't. What I have in this little one horse town is a mom and pop parts store, but they carry the best.
