Default Heater hoses bypass

The heater hoses on my 66 need replacement, but due to: no need for the heater (here in Ca), weelkend driving andspecially abad back I don't want to take the heater box to replace the hoses, what bring me to my question..how I bypass the heater core on the engine? should connect a hose from the water pump conection hose to the one on the manifold and on the heater core from one conection to the other?..thank you

You could do it on the firewall, or where the water pump and thermostat housing hoses intersect like in the pic of mine.

Find the ports on the engine that have the heater hoseshooked tothem(just follow the 2 hoses from the firewall to the engine)

Remove the heater hoses from those 2 connections

Take a piece of 5/8"hose just long enough (about 1.5' or less) and connect the two connections on the engine and use a hose clamp on each so now you have formed a loop between the heater "to" line and the heater "return" line on the engine

Take the old heater lines and cut them back out of the way a bit and fold the ends over so no fluid leaks out. If you want you could cut them flush with the firewall and you’ll be fine too. Or you could use a 5/8" male to male connector and loop the old heater hoses as well. any of the above will work.

Yeah, I went to get a beer and was thinking to myself......"Self, why not just run a hose from the water pump directly into the thermostat then you won't have a connection to worry about? So, yeah, just run a hose from the water pump directly into the thermostat housing. The glare off of LCC's chrome engine prevents me from seeing how he has it routed.

Put a pipe plug in the manifold and a hose cap on the water pump.

7Mp freebie. It's a $300 retail jobber, though.

XMas gift. Sure beats that 1.3Mp I was using.

I'm almost surprised you didn't comment on the paint coming off the intake. The intake is now in a box getting ready to be shipped to 19Mustang66 (I think that's the right guy). And, I do have a new spacer to adjust the fan, too!
