engine casting number

Default engine casting number

the casting number off my block is C8OE-6015A. can anyone shed some info on the size..if its a 302 or 289.....or watever size it is hahaha THANKS!

That's a 1968 289 2 barrel. The last of the 289's that Ford put in cars. Keep that sucker.

whats so special about this engine thats worth keeping? i dont think this is the original engine that came with the car ( car vin: 7R01C191030 )
planning on throwing in a 302 or a 351W in there. if i go with a 351W would i need a new tranny, torque converter, etc?

its special because ford stopped putting 289s in their cars after 68 and made 302 the standard block (i think!)

a 351 will bolt to a 289/302 drivetrain no problems

so regardless of which engine i decide to put in there either the 302 or the 351W, i wouldnt need to change the drive train at all?
