There is a conversion kit if you bought it in a package you would be paying a bit more than if you would have just bought a refurbished t5 there is a place in spokane washington that sells rebuilt t5 manual transimsions i was quoted $800 out the door for one then you need to find the crossmember and all those goodies for it you can by the clutch adaption parts for it from a website you may be looking at about 1400 for the conversioin . I have thought about doing the conversion for myself i have a c4 and would really like a t5
If money is no object and you want to minimize effort, go to www.moderndriveline.com and purchase a kit specific to your needs. If you already have a manual transmission, just about every Mustang parts warehouse sells a kit with a crossmember, adaptor plate, yoke, etc. to get the job done. If you have an auto, you'll have to source pedals, return springs, brackets, z-bar, etc.
If I were to do this today (I've done two already), I'd pick up the kit from Mustang Steve which gives you new pedal assemblies, cable clutch conversion and power brakes for $500. Add to that a crossmember, yokeand a bellhousing and shift lever from a 5.0L Mustang and go to town.
Perhaps if you describe your starting point better on what you currently have, better advice could be given.
Good luck!

When you use the term 'conversion kit'...just think $$$$$.
Assuming you have a 289, you can do this switch fairly cheaply. Look for a wrecking yard T5 that is still in the car. Preferably an 90-92 T-5. Get the flywheel, bellhousing, transmission, and driveshaft yoke.
You'll want a new clutch, which can be picked up at an auto parts store or off Ebay.
The flywheel will need to be resurfaced, and then rebalanced from it's current 50oz imbalance down to an early model 28 oz imbalance. This flywheel work can be done at a good engine shop for about $75.
Using a stock flywheel and stock bellhousing gives you an easy starter setup. Use a late model mini starter (< $75 on Ebay). Use a stock clutch/pressure plate off the transmission's year model car.
You'll need a roller pilot bearing to install in the crankshaft as a guide for the transmission input shaft.
If the transmission is in good shape, it can be a simple bolt in at this point. Otherwise, you might want to take it to someone and have it rebuilt.
The T-5 yoke will be attached to the driveshaft. You'll need to measure for the new driveshaft length and have one assembled at a local driveshaft shop.
Assuming your car is already a manual transmission, using MustangSteve's cable clutch setup is the easiest way to get a cable pull. If it doesn't you'll have to come up with a new pedal support and pedals. These are getting expensive lately.
Look on my website for some other ideas on clutch installations... I am running a home made hydraulic clutch.
You'll need a special conversion transmission brace. These can be sourced on Ebay., Ron Morris, or any of the big name mail order houses. It will use a standard transmission to brace mount.
You'll need to decide if you want to leave the stock shifter or go with an aftermarket like Pro50 or B&M. Now's the time to install that new shifter, cause it's really hard after the tranny is up and in.

I agree with James 110%...
Thats why I went with a late model H.O. 302 So I did not have to mess around with the bell housing swap/fab job... I also went with the cable set up, its so nice to push the clutch in with ease!

Also Gus, check out the FAQ's page, if you haven't already. There's an amazing wealth of knowledge in there.

Got any more info on this guy? Where to find him or the kit? I need all of that for my swap.

Also, he sells his stuff on Ebay which is how I originally found it. His website has a forum that is a good source of information. I was this close to pulling the trigger on his complete kit but didn't due to the fact that I had already dropped over $5k that month on parts for the Mustang and another $2k on a new tranny for the Jeep. [
] Now, I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing it. I could'veeasily gotten over $150 for my old pedals and linkage, leaving the net being only another $150 to get the nice pedals and power brake. Oops.
