Default 68 Heater cleanout

Looking to restore the heater today, I found a few surprises.

I personally like how the heater element was nested right next a bunch of old leaves. No danger there!

At some point yes, it was a definate nest for maybe a mouse. It hasn't been in a while since the car is a driver.

FYI to everyone who hasn't yet cleaned out their heater box. Very easy to do, not much to it.

I will get the seal and heater core kit and I am contemplating replacing the motor as well since it's all out anyway.

Yeah, it's not uncommon for an animal of some sort to crawl in there and nest. I was replacing an air filter on some car when I worked at pep boys and when I cracked open the air box,I found a good 3-4 pounds of acorns. One of the master techs there told me he once found a dead squrrill in one.

Those aren't heater elements. They're resistive wires for the fan speed control. They will get warm, especially on the slowest fan setting.
