No, that guy readily admits he is missing some of the colors. Now, from what I have found, there was a color in 1968 that was just called "Orange" but was only available on Shelby's.

Here are the factory codes and color namesfor all vintage Mustangs: http://www.vintage-mustang.com/topic...de/decode.html
They match the PPG/Ditzler chart on the above site. The questionwas inregard to a428 CJ. The CJwas a factory car available in a factory color(s). A Shelby is not a factory car and may have used a non-factory paint.

Exactly my point. There were no factory Mustangs painted a burnt orange in 1968. The CJ could also be a Shelby, as were many of them. Wouldn't it be nice to have a 428 CJ whether it be Shelby or not? I'm still thinking he is thinking about the Grabber Orange which is a brighter orange than a burnt orange, but was not a 68 color. I ought to know what burnt orange looks like. My bachelor's degree was from UT Austin, and I played in the Longhorn band.

A 68 "R" code Cobra Jet Mustang is not a Shelby. It's a Mustang model that came out in 68 1/2. It was a package of go fast stuff that included the 428 CJ engine that was added on top of the GT package. Yes, the Shelby was available with the 428 CJ but it's not considered a Cobra Jet Mustang, it's a Shelby. I'm sure anyone lucky enough to own a 68 1/2 CJ would be quick to make that point. BTW, Grabber Orange wasn't available until 1970.

Not a problem with any of your information. The color is the issue. I give up.
