Default 4 bbl carb question...

Where would I go to find the proper application for a four barrel carb that I could purchase to swap out for my 2 bbl. I have a '65 2V 289 with the stock 2 bbl and the 4 bbl that I could replace it with has a tag with the following info: 1187 9635SA Thanks for any help.

Shane,
If you want to stay stock then look at a 4 barrel intake manifold from that year (eBay has lots of them usually) - that also goes for a 4 barrel Autolite 4100 carb. I'd choose that carb even if I went with an aftermarket intake manifold (Weiand Stealth!).
Check into these guys - they know their Mustang stuff: http://www.ponycarburetors.com/

Thanks 68s,
That is a pretty informative website. When I get the Mustang home this weekend, I will pull of the air cleaner and take a look at those numbers. I am curious to see what I have on it.

+1 on the 4100 carb an Pony Carbs as a rebuild source. They worked great for me!

I just rebuilt one of the 4100's I got from the swap meet ( 10 bucks, btw ) and sold it for 100. So, I had 30 bucks in it. I even helped the guy get it installed and it fired up and needed only minor idle adjustments on the first try.

I've 2 more waiting for buyers.
