Default third member gasket question

I'm trying to get mine to stop leaking. Every website I look at for gaskets seam to have 1 gasket for this. It semas to be the large one but there also appears to be a smaller one in between the case and the drive shaft yoke. Anybody know where I can get this gasket from? Thanks.

maybe look for an oil seal, when I had mine redone, it still leaked a little, they had to put some sealant in there to stop it good luck to ya!

Yeah, there's not a gasket there, just a seal. They are fairly easy to replace.

even with the pinion seal, you may still need sealant, this is for a 9 inch but you get the idea http://shopping.msn.com/specs/shp/?itemId=615245381

I think you're talking about the pinion support. In addition to the yoke seal, there is an o-ring between the pinion support (it has 5 bolts holding it to the case) and the case. It should be available from Ford or any rear end supply company.

Yes, you do need to use a sealant as stated in this replacement procedure of the pinion (yoke) seal.

I know that now so learn from my mistake, but you'd think the mech. at the shop would have known, or at least do a QA check, I drove around for a day with tranny fluid spraying everywhere before I even noticed the leak. Then the A-hole said that I might have to pay to get it fixed. The song changed after I talked to the owner.
