Default Speedo Question

I have a 68 with the original 14's on it and from what I have read and heard the 01+ 17x8 bullitt wheels will bolt right up with no spacing issues, but what I'd like to know is how is this going to effect my speedo and what can i do to fix it. I have never changed tire sizes this dramaticly on any of my cars, so never had to really worry about it.

Thanks for any help[sm=thanx.gif]

Default RE: Speedo Question

Specification..Sidewall..Radius..Diameter...Circum ference...Revs/Mile..Difference
195/75-14.........5.8in...12.8in....25.5in...........80.2 in.............790..........0.0%
245/45-17.........4.3in...12.8in....25.7in...........80.7 in.............785..........0.6%

The stock mustang tire was a E 75-14 = 195/75-14. As you can see above there is less than 1% difference. So, at 100mph it will read 100.6mph. In other words, you cant tell the difference. I have a set of 245/45-17 bullet wheels on my 65 2+2 and there excellent.

Enjoy[sm=smiley20.gif]
