1964 1/2 Convertible -
I am new to this forum and have been out of Mustangs for seven years. I own a 64-1/2 convertible, 260v-8, manual trans, standard issue model. A few years back I started a frame up restoration, but things happened and I put the car in storage. I had sandblasted everything but the body panels, installed new floor panels (13 of them), primered and paintedthe undercarriage, trunk and engine compartments. This car has a solid foundation.
Now I am back into it and I am trying to decide if I should continue on or sell it. I think I need to spend another $8-10k on parts alone at this point. Re-Assembly, body workand exterior paint and new top is basically left. The engine runs but is not re-built. The drivetrain is complete. There are new brakes and leaf springs. It needs a fuel tank, exhaust, complete interior, wheels and tires, all the exterior chrome and exterior paint.
My question is what is the value range ofthis car ifcompleted to a drivable grade, not a show car, but mechanically sound and let's say - at an 80% quality level that looks great driving by? Also, doesthis car inits current stage of completion have any value?
I know there are many variables to consider, but any input would be greatly appreciated. I will try to post some images later. I left my camera at work.

The original convertibles are quite valuable. If fixed up to run good and look good, it would be anywhere from 15 to 20K you could get for it. If I were you, I would take my time and restore it yourself. You have most of the hard work done already. Overhauling and engine is nothing compared to what you have already done.
I have a buddy whose had really good luck with these guys and continues to use them, even though we live on the west coast

Cannot go wrong with either National Parts Depot (you should at least download their catalog at npdlink.com, it's an education by itself) or Virginia Classic Mustang. There is also Laurel Mountain which often times has the best prices.

I live in MD aswell and I've found that LaurelMountainMustang in Ruffsdale,PA is usually the best priced(but not the best quality), and CJPonyParts nearCarlisle,PAhas great quality.
I dare say that most of these vendors all carry the same Chinese made parts. The shipping costs are what eat up your budget. Find the closest one to you and try some of their parts. I found Texas Mustang has just about as good as any of the other suppliers and they are closer so the shipping costs are lower than ordering from NPD or LaurelMountain, etc.
