Default New Coil

I was thinking of upgrading my ignition coil...attached pic.....any ideas? is replacing this a simple matter of taking the old one out and replacing it with a new one or does one need to change the attaching wire as well( for the red and blue terminals)?

Pertronix flamethrower ftw, and no, you don't have to change the wires.

MSD is a Company that manufactures the popular 6A and 6AL electronic ign. boxes. Flamethrower is a brand name under the company Pertronix.

Two seperate companies.

If you want to upgrade your ignition the easiest route to go is this: http://www.mustangsplus.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MPFMP&P roduct_Code=08590&Category_Code=ignition_moder n_kit

Actually, you don't need the kit at all. Just buy the module for like 65.00 and hook it up to your existing coil. The directions of how to hook it up come with the module. What's that Geico commercial??? Even a caveman can do it.

You should get a resistor and new wires. I'd also recommend moving the coil from the block to somewhere else. If you do want to put the coil in the same spot then don't bother with a new bracket because the new one won't let you put it in the stock position.

No, he doesn't need to move anything. The location of the current coil is perfect. What weed did you you buy at a discount?
