dang it
so i finally got my car running
got a new holley 4bbl
it started right up
timing is set at 6 degrees
test rides went very well
probably needs a little air fuel adjusting but overall a definite improvement
but today
just now
right in front of me
the car started idling poorly
and i started smelling gas
i take off the air cleaner and the front of the carb is leaking right by the acellerator pump
i feel around and the entire seal on the front bowl is leaking
i pull the front bowl off and the gasket looks like it was put on pinched
i am assuming that a simple gasket kit will fix this
it is a 4160C carb that comes with preadjusted floats
and doesnt have the screw on top or the sight window to adjust float level
so i doubt that the floats were set too high

just got back from autozone with a gasket kit
10 minutes
left carb on car
drained fuel via hose through vent hole
new gaskets on
restart
no leaks
we will see tomorrow when it cools back down
its no wonder shops charge so much for labor
