You may want to check the vacuum advance as well.

Yeah, the gap is 0.017, and that is exactly the same thickness as a match book. Now, you young whippersnappers can just whip out a match book to set the points and impress your girlfriend. Get the pertronix. I'm so glad I don't have to fool around with points again.

matchbook ...reminds me of when my breaker plate came loose. I took a few twigs from a tree to hold it in place to get back home.
But the looks I got were rather the "why don't you get a proper car" instead of the expected "Oh. look at McGyver here ..."

So what you say Soaring ? If you want it for the FAQ (how to adjust dwell) I'll polish it up a bit ...

thanks for the suggestions. ive been busy lately so its taking me a little bit longer than i hoped. ill let yall know what the problem is.

I'll take McGyverisms any day. Being from the old school, points and such were the basics. MUCH more fun to make that SOB run than to wonder whether the PCM has died.
