Mach 1 four speed conversion
I currently own a 1969 mustang mach 1. it currently has a 302 4bbl (old motor is shot)and C6 automatic. I love how the car runs and drives, yet i would like to install a 4 speed transmission (keep it period correct). i have begun collecting the parts and infrtomationrequired to make the conversion. unfortunately one detail eludes me. after looking around. i have been unable to determine where the clutch pedal to equalizer rod passes through the firewall. the only visible hole is the hole where the speedometer passes through. is this the hole the clutch rod passes through( awfully close to the inner fender) or is there a hole that may need to be drilled. i appreciate any advice that may be useful

look under the brake booster it might not be knocked out

yes, i did notice a small hole right below the MC(manual Drum brakes), although it looked awfully small for a rod to pass through.
from underneath the dash in the same location, i could not find anything that looked like a knockout or stamping. from what i saw there is a plate that the MC and steering column are bolted up to. i have a feeling once i get my hands dirty on this it will be more clear, but anyadvice would be most appreciated.
to answer a few questions:
it is originaly a 351W +FMX car with AC... the fmx wouldnt go into gear and i had a C6 lying around. the 351 was tossed a loong time ago. i plan on putting a 351cleveland in the car anda t-5 in time. unfortunately, i am in school, and i am on an extremely tight budget. i happen to have a 4 speed hanging around my fathers garage, and recently purchased a set of clutch pedals for pretty cheap. at this point, it makes economical sence to just use what i have and upgrade when i get the money. i know there is morehassle this way, but im up for the challenge
i bought the car from my uncle in rough shape. it is the first car i have ever rebuilt/ restored, and plan on rediong it all again when i get more capital for it. but i enjoy driving it in the summertime and hope to spend no more than a week or two on this project.
