Default Carb Options

I am interested in buying a new carb. I will not ask for opinions on brands, because i know i will get 20 different answers. However, i will ask as to what size you think i should run.

Here's some good info for you and might help you in making your decision...

(But- I'd put a Autolite 4100 with 1.12 primaries on it... )

600-650 for a decent 302.

Your engine could use a 750 vacuum secondary carb, but it will drive better and probably make a little more bottom end power with the 600-650. Dont run a mechanical secondary carb.. for Fords I like Holley, the 4100, and Demons. All of my Fords have Holleys on them, unless they are EFI..

CFM=((RPM*CID)/3456)*VE

I generally assume 100% VE, even though you're not likely to get there with most engines.

IMO, double pumpers are easier to tune in than a vacuum secondary carb, and will need less seasonal maintainance to deal with air density changes.

What's wrong with the 600 cfm you already have on it?
