Default I'm new here with a question

Hello, I'm new here and I have a 69 fastback with 302. I've spent the last four years restoring it and I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!! I wonder if anyone experiences the same thing however, I installed a new gas tank and I am pretty sure I installed it correctly...However when I open the truck, I always smell fuel oder!

Also, my fastback is NOT a fold-down! With that I have come up empty in being able to find the proper parts for around the back seat. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!!!!!

How does the tank work? Is it like a 66? Could it be a gasket? Maybe a new fuel cap. Did you poke a hole in it?

Get a match. No, no, no, don't do that. I was just joking. Maybe use your nose. Sniff to find the leak. Try not to get a head rush. Use you kid for this job or you wife. Just joking on that to. You have a leak. It may be a gas vaper leak. Could it leak when you put gas in it?

First check the gasket on the sending unit. Then make sure the cap is ventilating. You have to have a leak somewhere....keep looking.

Check around the filler pipe opening for vapor leak. Also make sure the cap gasket is not rotted/cracked/broken.
